Latin American Fixed Income

Why Santander Asset Management for Latin American Fixed Income?

We have a large local presence. We describe it as ‘a long distance relationship that really works.’ The team is organized according to sectors across Latin America. This is crucial to the investment process as it allows for assessing and judgement on selection of the best bonds for the portfolios at all times.

Investment Process

Our fundamentally driven investment process is a combination of objective and proprietary analysis with the aim of constructing a portfolio with the highest expected return for each unit of risk – a key factor that differentiates us from the competition. Our approach is focused on credit quality. We believe risk is asymmetric and our expected returns are underpinned by analyzing spreads – it’s not just about picking the right bonds but about avoiding the pitfalls also. Furthermore, we continually review our actual returns versus expected returns in order to provide insights into disparities and modify analysis, where required.
